Starts: 19:30
Pictish Burial Practice and the wider Landscape with Juliette Mitchell, PhD student, Aberdeen Uni
Monthly Archaeological Discussion meeting for NOSAS members at Strathpeffer Community Centre.
Juliette Mitchell is an experienced archaeologist, currently completing her PhD with Aberdeen University. She excavated at Garbeg in 2015, and is therefore known to some NOSAS members. She will be talking about the relationship between Pictish burial practices and the landscape. Her well-researched and eminently readable paper on this subject, which you may care to read before the night, can be found at http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/00766097.2017.1296031.
