20 Years of NOSAS: Inverlaidnan and Sluggan Bridge Walk
25 March 2018
Starts: 10:30
Ends: 16:00

The weekend will close with a guided walk at Inverlaidnan and Sluggan Bridge via the Wade miltary road

Come and explore this interesting multi-period landscape, Eve Boyle from HES will accompany us. Meet at 10.30 in the main car park, Carrbridge NH 902228. From there we will be combining cars and driving up the yellow road on the south side of River Dulnain for 4kms to the start/ finish of the walk at NH 866209 where there is restricted parking. The walk is approx 5km in length. Please bring a picnic and come suitably dressed for all types of weather. NO DOGS PLEASE. See further information here.

We will visit the multi-period landscape of Inverlaidnan, before following a good section of the military road constructed in 1728- 29 and crossing the spectacular bridge at Sluggan. Along the way there is a prehistoric cist, round houses, shielings, a mill with lade, a horse gang, a lairds house, townships, a WW1 POW/Canadian Forestry Camp (scant remains only) and much more - a host of sites to ponder over and discuss!
