As many of you are aware we will be excavating the ‘Pictish’ cemetery from 31st August to 14th September. Steve Birch is our appointed supervisor this year in partnership with Gordon Noble, Aberdeen University.
This year we will need a wide range of people, lots of diggers but also people who are willing to do non digging jobs such as surveying with our new resistivity unit and other survey work. As we will be launching our Tarradale Challenges just before the start of the dig we will have space for people to do art at the dig and ideally we will need people to oversee this area. We might even have some finds!
Several of you have already offered your services at the dig and now I am beginning to compile my list of volunteers. PLEASE could you send me your available dates, even if you have already told me please, please could you re-send. If you haven’t already volunteered you are not too late send me your name and dates. Ideally we would like you to commit to at least 2 days but the more the better.
