Bridgescapes: a journey through Scotland’s bridge-building heritage

a talk by L. Bruce Keith

Bruce is a surveyor and environmentalist, having started his professional career working on several Perthshire estates with the Department of Agriculture. His interest in bridges stems from his
childhood, from his father, who was a local authority engineer responsible for bridges in the Highlands of Scotland. His passion for Scottish history, geography and landscapes continues. Publication of his fully illustrated book of the same title as our talk coincided with the completion of the tremendous new cable-stayed design Queensferry Crossing. Bridges closer to home in Moray will also be covered in his talk. Join us at Elgin Museum’s first event to celebrate Year of Coasts and Waters 2020.
