SCAPE Coastal Survey
23 April 2022

The first day of the SCAPE Coastal Survey

Jo Hambly and Tom Dawson of SCAPE are up again to lead us through four days of coastal survey in the Moray Firth. This link will download further information about each day's activity.

Please contact Jo at jh105@st-andrews.ac.uk if you would like to take part. Meeting time and place will be mailed out later.

This first day will be at Munlochy Bay, exploring the numerous sites listed on the north side of the bay, in particular the Munlochy Bay Harbour. The quarry at the back of the harbour produced the stone used in the construction of Fort George. The small harbour was constructed to handle the numerous boats plying their way across the firth. Further information about the harbour can be found in Roland's blog on the NOSAS blog-site.

Jo writes:

Attached are the two Highland field work stretches.  The actual walkover areas will depend on access and practicalities.

We are always working around tides so start times will be a little different each day and we will probably be out on the survey around 5 – 6 hours each day. See attachment for further details.
